University Park in State College was the scene for Amanda & James’ engagement session. What better place for a couple who love the Nittany Lions almost as much as I do. We drove up together and spent quite a bit of time walking around and hitting all the most recognizable locations in Penn State including the Nittany Lion Shrine, had some ice cream at The Berkey Creamery, The Hub, Old Main, stopped at the The Corner Room for lunch, Beaver Stadium and The Arboretum at PSU. We also stopped along the way at some random locations which just showed off the town. It’s one of my favorite places to go and it was great to be there with this awesome couple! I can’t wait for your wedding this year guys.

I met up with my friends Samaria & Bill at Steinman Park at the Pressroom in downtown Lancaster for their engagement photos. It’s always great to photograph friends, especially when they are so much fun! At the moment Samaria is battling a broken foot and trying to get it healed before their wedding this coming August. But she was a trooper through the heat and we joked around a good bit to keep her spirits up. Keeping her foot in mind I suggested that we keep it simple and just stay within the Steinman Park area. It’s beautiful and you don’t really need to go very far to get some great shots. Oh, and the high trees keep it a lot cooler on a sunny humid day.

Millersville pond family time

Millersville University in Lancaster County has a beautiful pond that I’ve photographed at many times. Each time is more fun than the previous. This family got a FREE portrait session through my referral program. I’ve photographed Ashley and Bella before for the Mother’s Day section of the Lancaster Newspaper this year. Bella is such a ham in front of the camera, she just needs to get warmed up sometimes. Today was one of those times. We just had fun walking around the pond for a bit and Bella was her normal adorable self.

Wine Time

Nissley Vineyards near Marietta, PA was the backdrop we used for Laura & John’s Get To Know You engagement session. They are wine drinkers after my own heart that suggested the location of which I’ve been to, but never done a photography session. After walking down along the creek that runs through Nissley, we walked around the grounds, even finding a lime kiln back in the woods. We then finished up on the road out with a quick stop in the vineyards. It was a very warm, humid day and we all were wishing that they would have been open so we could have had a nice cold glass of wine. It was a fun time and they are a great looking couple.

Farm Family

I got to spend a little time at a Lancaster County farm the other day with a really great family. Last year I was contacted by them to photograph some of their fruits and veggies at a produce stand they have at the Lititz Farmers Market for some home art. This year, they were ready for some family photos. With their kids growing fast, it was time to capture them before they got any bigger. I grew up with grandparents who owned a farm, so I was no stranger to the lay of the land. Farms offer some great views and interesting structures for photos. It was a beautiful night and the kids were so good the whole time.

A little DC walk

It’s great to live so close to Washington DC, making it easy to drop down for a day and get some engagement photos in for Jen and Dan. Traffic was a bit crazy on a Friday in our nations capitol, but we managed to get together on this windy day. Meeting at the Jefferson Memorial, we made our way most of the way around the Tidal Basin. Stopping here and there using the Washington Monument as a backdrop now and again. It’s such a simple, yet beautiful location to take photos.

After spending a little time in DC we made our way out to their home for a few photos with their critters. They have 3 really cute dogs that we took for a little walk through the fallen flower petals. It was a beautiful session and I can’t wait for the wedding!
